
Colombia: Violent clashes between students and police erupt in Bogota
A protest by students from the District University in Bogota ended up in violent clashes with the police on Thursday.
Footage shows students with their faces covered, throwing stones at Colombian anti-riot police, which responds by firing tear gas and approaching the protesters with a heavily armoured vehicle.
The recent events of unrest come at a time when the students were staging a protest against the police after an incursion at one of the headquarters of the District University, where a student was reported shot and another 30 were injured and in need of medical assistance due to violent beatings.
