Russia: Putin and Netanyahu to discuss Iranian presence in Middle East - Israeli PM advisor *EXCLUSIVE* *PARTNER CONTENT*
International Media Advisor to the Israeli Prime Minister Evan Gary Cohen spoke to RT about the major issues on the table at Russia-Israel talks in Sochi on Thursday.
“I think the Iranian presence in Syria is something that the Russians and Israel both would like to end,” Cohen said as the Russian and Iranian leaders talked eye-to-eye in Sochi.
According to the Israeli official, the Iranian presence in the Middle East is growing, and that fact brings security concerns.
“The prime minister would like to discuss it with President Putin and also because president and Russia have interests in Syria and in the Middle East, we would like to coordinate with no clashes between Israel and Russia,” Cohen said.
The meeting held between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is their thirteenth to date, and Netanyahu's trip comes just days before a snap general election in Israel.
