Watch elderly work up a sweat at Senior Olympics in Brussels
Senior citizens competed in various activities during the 'Olympic Games' specifically designed for them, at the King Baudouin stadium in Brussels, on Thursday.
Footage shows the elderly - some of them in wheelchairs - shooting bows, throwing balls, golfing and even hitting a pinata.
Barbara Wellens, the Director of the Senior Services of the City of Brussels, explained that the event is important for seniors who are isolated or suffer from health issues.
"We like to keep them active in society and this is a playful occasion to make them compete, meet each other, create a friendly moment of solidarity between seniors," she added.
The first 'Olympics for Seniors' were hosted in Brussels in 2017.
