
Serbia: Hometeam manager Tumbakovic praises Portugal after 4-2 defeat
European champions Portugal surged to second place in Group B after they beat Serbia 4-2 in Belgrade on Saturday during qualifications for the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament.
Carvalho, Guedes, Ronaldo and Silva led Portugal to win, while Serbia responded with Milenkovic and Mitrovic.
Serbia's manager Jubisa Tumbakovic admitted Portugal's superiority on the pitch, saying “Hats off to Portugal,” and praised Portugal as "an excellent team with extraordinary individuals."
Portugal’s Head Coach Fernando Santos expressed satisfaction at his team's improvements from previous match in Lisbon, where the game ended in a disappointing draw.
"This time, Serbian midfielders did a great job but we succeeded to get good results with better ball control," he said.
