Bahamas: At least 30 dead in wake of Hurricane Dorian
Authorities reported that 30 people were killed in the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian ravished the country before moving on to the United States, footage filmed in Freeport on Grand Bahama on Friday shows.
People can be seen crowding at a port, who were desperate to get on board a ship rumoured to be heading to the United States. Supplies can be seen being distributed to the people there.
A wrecked aircraft can also be seen near the airport, which has been closed.
Dorian became a Category 5 hurricane before striking the Bahamas last Saturday, with winds reaching 185 miles per hour (297 kilometres per hour). The northern Abaco Islands and Grand Bahama were the worst hit portion of the archipelago, with officials reportedly claiming the death toll could be significantly higher and that hundreds remain missing.
