Bahamas: US Coast Guard fly in after devastating Hurricane Dorian
The recovery from the destruction caused by Hurricane Dorian began in earnest on Wednesday.
Helicopters operated by the US Coast Guard delivered emergency supplies and medical assistance to residents on the Abaco Islands and Grand Bahama, the two worst hit locations in the Caribbean nation's north.
Airports were underwater and homes destroyed by winds reaching 185mph (298kmph) during the category five storm.
At least seven people were killed during what has been reported as the second-strongest Atlantic hurricane on record.
Dorian has since weakened to a category two storm albeit growing larger in area as it moves slowly towards the US coast.
