UK: 'People's vote' protesters rally in London during crucial Brexit vote
'People's Vote' protesters gathered outside Westminster in London on Wednesday, with a huge banner reading 'Defend our democracy', demanding the government to arrange another Brexit referendum.
Footage shows demonstrators chanting, holding EU flags and banners, as well as a man dressed as a clown and wearing a mask of UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson. People protested while the bill to block no-deal Brexit was being discussed in the Parliament.
Labour Member of Parliament, Jess Phillips, who was also spotted outside the Parliament, accused Johnson of not bringing a deal.
"He's got to come and present his own deal. He keeps selling us he's got a plan, I'm only asking him to tell me what it is, that's all", she added.
The bill to block a no-deal Brexit passed the first stage on Wednesday by a vote of 329 to 300 in the House of Commons in London and has now moved on to the committee stage where Members of Parliament can make amendments before the second vote in the evening.
