Ireland: Pence calls on Ireland and EU to negotiate in 'good faith' with UK on Brexit
US Vice President Mike Pence called on Ireland and the EU "to negotiate in good faith" with the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Brexit, speaking alongside Taoiseach of Ireland Leo Varadkar in Dublin on Tuesday.
Pence stressed the importance of reaching an agreement that would "respect the United Kingdom's sovereignty" and "minimize disruption to commerce."
Varadkar, in turn, mentioned risks and serious impact that the divergence between Ireland as part of EU and the UK would have for both nations, such as barriers to the freedom of movement, trade and cooperation agreements.
US Vice President Mike Pence arrived in Ireland on Monday for a two-day official visit.
