Syria: Syrian Arab Army ceasefire goes into effect in Idlib
Syrian Arab Army soldiers observed a ceasefire in the town of al-Tamanah, in Idlib province, on Saturday, after several days of fighting.
Footage shows armed soldiers walking through ruins and not engaging in active combat in a seemingly deserted area.
"We are committed to this ceasefire decision which was announced by the Syrian Arab Army, but we have the right to keep liberating other occupied territories in case militants don't respect the decision," said one soldier. "The area is very calm now; there are no ongoing operations except marking the front-line points and monitoring. We'll also destroy any targets that don't respect the ceasefire if we discover any."
The Syrian Army declared the ceasefire on Friday and it came into effect on Saturday morning.
