Five women and a man were arrested after storming Forge Farm Meats, a slaughtherhouse north of the English town of Royal Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday.
According to reports, the activists arrived in the early hours of the morning aiming to stop as many of the sheep inside being killed as possible, and then chained themselves to a tower in the slaughterhouse premises after hanging banners reading 'Shutdown Speciesism.'
"We want an end to this system of violence that is killing animals in their trillions worldwide every year, a system that needs to be shattered basically, it's gone long enough unchallenged, these guys are getting away with literal murder," said activist Graham Carper.
The group have said they would end the blockade if all the animals which were due to be slaughtered were sent elsewhere and that they themselves would be let go without charges.
