
Russia: Putin and Erdogan open MAKS 2019 air show ahead of talks on Syria, Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan took part in the opening ceremony of the 14th International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2019 at the Zhukovsky International Airport on Tuesday.
After the ceremony the leaders are due to sit down for bilateral talks followed by a press conference. The crises in Syria and Ukraine, in addition to other topical issues are expected to be on the agenda of the meeting.
The 14th International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2019 runs from August 27 to September 1, and exhibits the latest in aerospace and defence technology from enterprises representing more than 800 international organisations.
