      Australia: Mobile footage shows Sydney stabbing suspect apprehended by witnesses

      A man armed with a knife was detained in central Sydney on Tuesday after stabbing at least one woman. Footage shows witnesses holding the man on the ground. An officer is also seen examining the suspect.

      Police said the man tried to carry out further attacks before he was pinned down by passers-by. The injured woman who was stabbed in the back was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

      Another woman was found dead in an apartment on the same street. Police said they are investigating if her death is linked to the incident.
