Hong Kong: Police fire tear gas on anti-government protesters
Police used tear gas against anti-government protesters taking part in a general strike in Hong Kong on Monday. Footage shows officers fire canisters from behind a security barrier at Harcourt road near the government area.
The strike by workers from various sectors which paralysed parts of the city comes after clashes between protesters and police on Sunday.
Protests have been taking place in Hong Kong since the end of March. Demonstrators are calling for the total withdrawal of a suspended bill that would allow the extradition of the city's residents to mainland China for trials.
