      USA: 'Debris was flying everywhere' - suspected gas explosion rips through Florida shopping centre

      An explosion caused significant damage to the stores and gym located at a shopping centre in Plantation, Florida on Saturday.

      According to reports, 21 people were injured by the blast, that left shattered windows and debris scattered all around the parking lot.

      "I was just sitting here and suddenly heard a loud explosion and turned around and debris was flying everywhere and the building shook", said Ernest Prior, one of the witnesses.

      The explosion reportedly took place in an empty pizza restaurant in the complex with the restaurant itself being reduced to rubble, resulting in at least 20 injuries according to local media.
