
China: Xiaomi announces new smartphone line with 32MP selfie camera
The world's 4th largest smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi announced its new camera-focused smartphone series during an exhibition in Beijing on Tuesday.
The new Mi CC9 series all sport a 32MP front camera and 48MP rear camera, powered by a large 4030mAh battery that can reportedly provide up to two days of normal usage.
The company launched three new smartphones: the Mi CC9, the Mi CC9e, which is a smaller version of the CC9 with a lower resolution display, and the Mi CC9 Meitu Edition.
The Meitu Edition CC9 sports additional features focused around selfies and videos, using technology from the Chinese tech company Meitu, who are well known throughout Asia for their highly popular selfie applications, which was acquired by Xiaomi last year.
