The Head Coach of the Portuguese football team, Fernando Santos, announced his squad for the upcoming Nations League final in Lisbon on Thursday.

Santos kept a mix of experienced and young players, naming superstar Cristiano Ronaldo as captain of youngsters such as 19-year-old Joao Felix, who receives his first call-up.

When asked how he made the selections, the coach said "it is like mounting a puzzle because, when you mount a puzzle, you need to think about everything, in the characteristics of the players, what can happen, what cannot happen, for each game, for each competition."

"And regarding this competition, the choice was based only and exclusively in our style, which is to try and win the next competition we’re about to get into," he added.

Portugal will host Switzerland in Porto on June 5.
