Italy: 'I refuse to say his name' - anti-Salvini protesters hit the streets of Milan
A protest against the meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini and the French far-right leader Marine Le Pen took place in Milan on Saturday. The march started at Piazza del Cannone and went until the Duomo square, where Salvini and Le Pen were holding a rally of their own.
People from different generations were standing against the far-right movement across Europe. An Italian protester explained his concerns, saying: "People like LePen, Orban, and the Italian Minister, I refuse to say his name. I am disgusted. Makes me sick, I would like to go there and make a mess, but I have a certain age and a bit scared."
Salvini was joined on stage by French National Rally party leader Marine Le Pen, as well as politicians including German Federal spokesperson for Alternative for Germany (AFD) Jorg Meuthen and Dutch Party for Freedom leader Geert Wilders.
