
Thousands join Immortal Regiment marches across the globe
Thousands of people across the world marked the Victory Day on Thursday by taking part in the Immortal Regiment marches, as seen from footage shot in seven different world capitals.
In Moldovan capital Chisinau, tens of thousands of people took part in the event, whereas in Armenia’s Yerevan some 3,000 people gathered to remember those who defeated the Nazis in the Great Patriotic War (Second World War.)
In Asia, around 50,000 people marched in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, while in Beijing some 400 people took to the streets.
In Bulgaria, Sofia’s Immortal Regiment march gathered around 1,000 participants, while in the German capital Berlin and Ukraine’s Kiev more than 3,000 attendees marched holding portraits of their relatives and unknown veterans of the war.
Cities throughout Russia and around the world are holding marches on Thursday celebrating the 74th Victory Day, marking the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
