UK: 'No one gave us a chance' - Klopp on Liverpool's famous comeback win

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said "no one had bet a penny" on his side making the Champions League final after a stunning second-leg fight back at Anfield on Tuesday night.

"If you go out there there and ask who bet a penny on us, I don't think you'll find a lot of people," Klopp told reporters at a post-match press conference.

"I said to the boys before the game I don't think it's possible, but because it you I think we have a chance," he added.

For his part, Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde called the defeat "painful".

"This is football, these things can happen," he stated, reflecting on a surprise loss.

Liverpool produced an incredible display to overturn a 3-0 deficit from the Camp Nou, scoring four unanswered goals at Anfield.

Divock Origi started the comeback early on, but a second-half brace from substitute Georginio Wijnaldum shortly after the break swung the tie firmly in Liverpool's favour.

Barcelona were rattled and Trent Alexander Arnold caught the visitors napping at a corner, allowing Origi to score his second of the night and secure the tie.

The final whistle brought ecstasy for the home support, who more than played their part in an unforgettable match.

The Red's will now go for their sixth European Cup triumph in Madrid on June 1, where they will meet either Ajax or Tottenham in the final.
