
Russia: Passengers evacuated by inflatable ladder as death toll rises to 13
Passengers of the plane that made an emergency landing at Moscow's Sheremetyevo International Airport were seen being evacuated via an inflatable ladder, Sunday.
Thirteen people died including two children, according to Russia's Investigative Committee, after the plane crash landed and caught fire at the airport.
A total of 78 people were evacuated with the help of the inflatable ladders, according to reports.
The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case into the "violation of security rules on air transport," the body announced following the incident.
The fire was eventually extinguished, according to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM).
