Russia: Warship returns from International Defence Fair
Russia's Black Sea Fleet frigate Admiral Essen arrived at Sevastopol port on Saturday after taking part in a defence fair in Istanbul.
Footage from the welcoming ceremony held at Sevastapol port shows the ship's commander Anton Kuprin being presented with a welcoming dish after disembarking, and a priest giving the ship's crew his blessing before they were welcomed home by their families.
The frigate appeared at the 14th International Defence Industry Fair, which was held in Istanbul from Tuesday, April 30 - Friday, May 3.
Admiral Essen's captain Anton Kuprin commented on the event saying that Turkish servicemen were 'delighted' and 'surprised' with the condition of the ship and its weaponry after having an opportunity to view it.
In 2016, the frigate performed combat missions against the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS, ISIL) in Syria, including the siege of Deir ez-Zor.
