Protesters blocked Protasov Yar street in Kiev on Thursday, against illegal constructions and tree-cutting.
The company 'Daytona Group' is undertaking a development project for three skyscrapers that will see four hectares of green spaces being cut. Despite the protests and promises to not start working before a final decision by the local authorities, the company fenced the area in preparation for construction works.
Activists tried to demolish the illegal fence by force and blocked the street. The police had to intervene and detained several protesters, who were released soon afterwards.
The activists then blocked the street with the help of trees, which the developer had carved the day before.
