Ecuador: Thousands protest Pres. Moreno's IMF deal during May Day march
Thousands of protesters marched towards the Ecuadorian presidential palace in Quito on Wednesday during the annual International Workers' Day parade, to protest a $4.2 (€3.75) billion deal agreed between President Lenin Moreno and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Hundreds of policemen closed off central streets in the city to keep protesters away from Moreno's office.
Many of the protesters expressed their anger with Moreno's deal with the IMF and the austerity measures that his government has been enacting in order to receive it.
