Argentina: Thousands join protest strike against Pres. Macri's austerity policies
Thousands of people, including members of various labour unions, protested against Argentine's President Mauricio Macri's austerity policies, in Buenos Aires on Tuesday.
People marched with banners and flags of Argentine and labour unions, including the Syndicate of Mechanics and Related Automotive Transport of Argentine (SMATA) and the Union of Maritime Workers.
Deputy Secretary of Truckers' Union Pablo Moyano said that the county might soon follow Venezuela's path.
A nationwide strike was organised against Macri's austerity measures that must be implemented as part of an agreement with an International Monetary Fund (IMF) in return for a $56 (€49.9) billion loan.
