Spain: Socialist party supporters celebrate election victory in Madrid
Hundreds of supporters of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) gathered at the party's Madrid headquarters to celebrate their victory in the Spanish general elections on Sunday.
The PSOE, led by incumbent Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, has won the elections in Spain with 123 seats. The Popular Party (PP) becomes the second largest political force with 66 deputies, which is the worst election result for the party in its history. They are followed by Ciudadanos with 57 seats, Unidas Podemos and their allies, who get 43, and the right-wingers of Vox, who enter the national parliament for the first time, with 24 seats.
Sanchez will now look for alliances among the rest of the political parties in order to form a government in the coming days.
