
USA: Counter-protesters demonstrate as white supremacist rally fails to appear
A counter-demonstration led by a coalition of activists gathered in a park in Long Beach, California on Sunday in order to oppose a planned rally by a group with links to white supremacists that failed to take place.
The group, called the United Patriot Nation Front, was expected to rally at Bluff Park in Long Beach but never showed up. Instead numerous activists from organisations including the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), Party for Socialism and Libertarian (PSL) and ANSWER Coalition.
Without the expected rally, the activists held their own demonstration, speaking against nationalism and white supremacy.
