Sri Lanka: Mourners set up vigil outside bombed St Anthony's Church in Colombo
A group of mourners set up a vigil outside St. Anthony's Church in Colombo on Monday, just a day after the deadly Easter bombings.
The mourners were seen placing flowers, candles and written messages beneath the statue of Saint Anthony.
"In particular, we want to make sure that our government will act responsibly. Particularly when they have access to information that we citizens don't have, that they should take preventive action," said Ruki Fernando, Human Rights Documentation Centre official.
"And also to make sure that there those who are responsible will be held accountable, but you also don't want any violence against any particular community be blamed for this as a whole," he added.
In total, at least 290 people were killed and a further 450 were injured after eight explosions rocked hotels and churches across Sri Lanka on Sunday.
