Alistair Overeem wants a match up with Aleksander Volkov after beating Aleksei Oleynik in the heavyweight bout at UFC 149 in Saint Petersburg's Yubileyniy Arena on Saturday night.
The fight ended in a first round technical knock-out for home favourite Oleinik (57-12-1).
Overeem (45-17) was originally scheduled to face Volkov (30-7), but his opponent withdrew with injury.
"I was very prepared to fight Aleksander Volkov, I was looking forward to that fight," Overeem emphasised.
"My shape was excellent, I already said it before. If it was Aleksander Volkov, I would also beat him," he added.
Russian mixed martial artist Islam Makhachev also commented on his victory over Arman Tsarukyan in the lightweight section, saying that he was not satisfied with a judges' decision victory.
