
Ukraine: Crowds descend on Kiev’s Olympic stadium ahead of Poroshenko-Zelenskiy debate
Crowds of Ukrainians descended on Kiev’s 70,000-seat Olympic stadium to watch presidential candidates Petro Poroshenko and Volodymyr Zelenskiy go head to head in a televised debate on Friday.
This will be the first and only debate between the two candidates, set to commence at 17:00 GMT. According to opinion polls, Zelenskiy is the favourite.
Zelenskiy won the first round of the presidential election on March 31, garnering some 30 percent of the vote. He will face Poroshenko in the run-off election on April 21.
