France: Chaos in Nantes as 'Yellow Vests' clash with police in city centre
The 21st round of Yellow Vests demonstrations reached the streets of the western French city of Nantes on Saturday, with clashes taking place between protesters and police forces.
The "Yellow Vests" gathered around noon in the city centre and allegedly marched peacefully for about one hour, before tensions erupted when police in riot gear attempted to disperse the crowds with teargas.
Protesters responded by launching stones and throwing bottles towards the police.
The Yellow Vests movement, which emerged last November over fuel taxes and turned into urban rioting all across the country, has been agitating France for 21 weeks.
