USA: Trump says 'biggest deal ever made' with China close to happening
President Donald Trump said the US is "rounding the turn" to reach the "biggest deal ever made" with China, speaking during a meeting with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He in Washington, D.C on Thursday.
"We are rounding the turn and we'll see what happens. We have a ways to go, but not very far. We've made a lot of progress," Trump said before welcoming the Chinese Vice Premier Liu He.
Trump called the deal negotiated with China as "the biggest deal ever made," and "the granddaddy of them all," before adding that there is "a very very good chance of happening."
Chine Premier Liu He thanked President Trump for his "direct involvement" and said that despite "some remainings" there has been 'great progress."
On Wednesday, China and the US begun their ninth round of negotiations over a trade deal that would end a months-long standoff between the two countries.
