
Iran: Western provinces on high alert as floods claim 42 lives
More than 20 Iranian provinces were forced to combat heavy rainfall and the ensuing flash floods which caused Tehran to declare a state of emergency in most of the south-western provinces on Sunday.
Hundreds of villages have been evacuated and Nowruz travelers have been asked not to travel to western provinces currently flagged for more rainfall and winds in the next few days.
Ongoing floods and landslides have reportedly claimed 42 lives thus far.
