Serbia: Marchers continue long-running campaign against president
Thousands of people took the streets of Belgrade on Saturday for the 16th consecutive week to demand the resignation of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and his government.
Protesters stopped outside the Radio Television of Serbia's (RTS) headquarters, where they lit candles and placed flowers to commemorate the 20th anniversary of NATO's intervention in Yugoslavia.
Last week, riot police forcibly ejected hundreds of anti-government protesters from the broadcaster's headquarters, after they stormed the building and and demanded air time. Protesters accuse the RTS of censoring the wave of demonstrations against Vucic.
The protests, which have taken place every Saturday since early December last year, were sparked by opposition leader Borko Stefanovic being attacked in the city of Krusevac in November 2018.
