
Baltic Sea: Russian fighter jets intercept US B-52H bomber
Footage released by the Russian Ministry of Defence on Thursday shows US Air Force's nuclear capable bomber B-52H Stratofortress over international waters of the Baltic Sea.
According to the ministry, Russian airspace control detected the bomber at a considerable distance from the Russian border, and sent a pair of Su-27 fighter jets to identify and escort the US aircraft.
After being trailed by the Su-27s, the B-52H changed direction and left the area.
According to a statement by the US Air Force, six B-52 bombers have been recently deployed to Europe to take part in training missions across the continent.
