Syria: Arabian stallions heal war trauma in Damascus horse centre
Syria's Arabian stallions were seen undergoing post-war recovery in the stables in Deemas horse farm near Damascus on Tuesday.
Most of the horses in the stables are those lost or stolen during the Syrian war and later found malnourished and in poor health.
Now the Syria's Ministry of Agriculture is endeavouring to save the Arabian stallion through its Arabian Stallion Office.
"The first and basic task of Arabian Horses Office is to maintain the existence of the Syrian Arabian stallion in Syria. Such a task puts us into very hard circumstances during the crisis," said Mohammad Ghayyath al-Shaeib, Director of the Arabian Stallions Office in the Ministry of Agriculture.
The rescued horses are also being prepared for fecundation.
