USA: DC protesters demand White House keeps its hands off Venezuela
Hundreds of protesters rallied outside the White House in Washington DC on Saturday, demanding the United States keeps its 'hands off Venezuela.'
The event drew activists from the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition, Code Pink, Popular resistance, Black Alliance for peace and others.
Activists rallied against economic sanctions imposed by the US on Venezuela as well as any US involvement in the crisis by calling it a "coup attempts."
"There is nobody in that White House or in this administration that cares at all for the Venezuelan people. That has been so clear by the sanctions that they have introduced that are designed precisely to strangle the economy," said Medea Benjamin, Code Pink co-founder.
