USA: Tokyo brings 3D-PRINTED SUSHI to SXSW
Sushi Singularity showcased its upcoming 3D-printed Sushi on the opening day of the Trade Show at the South By Southwest Festival (SXSW) in Austin on Sunday.
Japanese company Dentsu is due to open the brand new concept restaurant in Tokyo next year, with the aim of creating a world where your dinner is digitised and connected to the internet.
The company, which intends to start 3D-printing sushi in 2020, establishes a concept where food is connected and created specifically for the consumer's personal nutrient requirements.
"When you make a reservation, those health test kits will be sent to you and we analyse those data and we personalise [the] sushi based on those data," said a spokesperson for Sushi Singularity, adding that "we find out which nutrition you're lacking and this machine automatically creates sushi for you."
The annual SXSW Festival, which showcases the best of film, music and interactive platforms, runs from Friday, March 8 to Sunday, March 17.
