UK: 'Breaking point' - Pro-leave politicians mocked with anti-Brexit billboard

United Kingdom, London
March 7, 2019 at 13:18 GMT +00:00 · Published

Anti-Brexit campaign group 'For Our Future's Sake' unveiled a traveling poster parodying a previous billboard promoted by leave campaigner and ex-UKIP leader Nigel Farage, in London on Thursday.

The billboard depicts a band of pro-Brexit politicians forming a queue, just as UKIP did of migrants supposedly heading towards the UK in 2016, and is set to be paraded in Westminster later in the day. The anti-Brexit billboard also features the same 'Breaking Point' slogan as the original anti-migrant poster.

Organiser of the campaign Jason Arthur explained: "in 2016 many people remember the famous billboard [showing] Nigel Farage stood in front of 'breaking point,' which basically tried to whip up fear about migrants in order to help the Leave campaign ultimately secure victory."

"But it's not migrants' that are the crisis our country is facing, it's a Brexit elite, who are incompetent, have made promises that they can't deliver, and what this billboard is trying to do is to highlight their incompetence and say 'it's not good enough, put it back to the people, give us a people's vote,'" he stated.
