Russia: Russia's Maxim Kovtun wins single figure-skating in Krasnoyarsk

Russia's Maxim Kovtun took 91.74 points – the best result in short routine single figure-skating competition at the Winter Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk on Wednesday.

“I want to say that it is the most unusual start I have ever taken part in. I have really nice feeling. The organisation is cool. The ice and fans are super. A holiday atmosphere is in the air. Everyone is so friendly,” Kovtun said afterwards.

The 2019 Winter Universiade is an international student and youth competition, which is scheduled to take place from March 2-12, 2019 in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk.

This is the first time the event takes place in Russia.
