Switzerland: Italdesign unveils 'DaVinci' concept car, BMW showcases Alpina B7
Italian car designer Italdesign presented its newest concept car, “DaVinci”, in homage to the five-hundredth anniversary of Leonardo's death, at the Geneva Motor Show in Geneva on Tuesday.
DaVinci is a concept car featuring an all-electric drivetrain. It is also able to host a gasoline V8 if needed, according to Italdesign. “This car was built from scratch, from the first sketch, in 64 days,” said Italdesign CEO, Joerg Astalosch.
Another novelty of the Motor Show was the new B7 xDrive, launched by Alpina on Tuesday. Based on the 750i or 750Li, the car is a powerful variant of the BMW 7 Series.
Alpina’s CEO, Andreas Bovensiepen, highlighted the robustness of the vehicle on any road. “It is perfectly stiff in a small road, not only for the German Autobahn,” he said.
The 89th Geneva International Motor Show takes place from March 7-17, 2019 at Palexpo in Geneva. The Motor Show has hosted almost all major models in the history of the automobile.
