Venezuela: Guaido calls on public sector workers to strike at union meeting

Venezuela opposition leader Juan Guaido called on state workers to strike at a meeting with public sector employees in Caracas on Tuesday.

Guaido said that unions, who have historically backed Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro, should disavow the government.

"All struggles are now one struggle," Guaido said.

The opposition leader and self-proclaimed is seeking to paralyse the public sector with strikes. He did not specify when the action would take place.

Guaido returned to Venezuela on Monday, after he flouted a travel to tour Latin American countries to muster support for his campaign to oust Maduro.
