The LA Galaxy paid tribute to legendary midfielder David Beckham by unveiling his statue at Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Beckham attended the ceremony alongside his wife, former Spice Girls member and well-known designer Victoria Beckham and his parents.

"When I first moved to LA, people turned around to me and said 'LA is the place where dreams come true', well LA, today, a dream came true," said Beckham recalling his move to the US to join the Los Angeles team in 2007.

Beckham also paid homage to Julie and Omri Amrani who designed and created the statue.

"You know I wish I had that size legs when I was playing to be honest, that might have added a little more power," said Beckham.
