
Paraguay: President Abdo Benitez welcomes Guaido in Asuncion
Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido arrived at the Paraguayan presidential palace in Asuncion on Friday, where he was received by Paraguayan President Mario Abdo Benitez.
"You will be part of the pages of glory that will resound in the history of Venezuela, president, and count on the Paraguayan people,” Benitez said to Guaido during a joint presser in the palace.
For his part, Guaido praised Benitez and Paraguay’s policy towards Venezuela, and emphasized continued mobilization "despite the risks, even death threats."
Over the past week, Guaido has visited numerous countries in South America, including Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil and is set to visit Ecuador next; in an effort to solidify his support in the region.
