
Egypt: Rescue workers on site of deadly Cairo train station crash, fire
Rescue workers and police were on the scene of fire that broke out after a train derailed and collided with a concrete barrier at Cairo's central Ramses Station on Wednesday, leaving at least 25 people dead and at least 47 more injured.
"It was about 9:40 o'clock, we saw smoke come from inside the station and people were screaming, we hurried to the station, we found some kiosk owners and security members trying to control the fire, then the ambulances arrived after 10 minutes" said witness Mohamed Rafael.
Egypt's Transport Minister Hisham Arafat resigned on Wednesday following the accident, according to reports.
