USA: Security tight for Oscars 2019
Security was on high alert outside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, as preparations were underway for the 91st Academy Awards.
Access to the venue was restricted, with authorised vehicles inspected by security guards on their way in.
The Oscars ceremony will be conducted without a host for the first time since 1989 and is expected to be shortened to three hours.
Favourites are The Favourite, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, and Alfonso Cuaron's Roma, both receiving ten nominations.
The ceremony is expected to kick off at 3:30 local time (11:30 GMT), with the red carpet show streamed on Twitter, while the main event is due to start at 5pm local time (01:00 GMT) and will be broadcast on ABC.
