      Bangladesh: Hijacking thwarted on Dhaka-Dubai flight, suspect killed

      A flight bound from Dubai to Dhaka was forced to make an emergency landing in the Bangladeshi city of Chittagong on Sunday, after a man reportedly attempted to hijack the plane.

      The suspect, a Bangladeshi, was reportedly shot dead by special forces after the plane made its emergency landing. According to reports citing the military, special forces fired at the suspect after he shot at them when they told him to surrender.

      All 148 passengers and crew on the Biman Bangladesh Airlines Flight BG147 dismounted safely, officials confirmed.
