Gymnast Simone Biles and tennis player Novak Djokovic won the top prizes at the 2019 Laureus World Sports Awards at a ceremony in Monaco on Monday night.

Biles was named Sportswoman of the Year after a stellar performance at the 2018 World Championships.

Djokovic picked up the Sportsman of the Year award after victories at both the US Open and Wimbledon.

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to football.

The so-called 'Oscars of Sport' honour the greatest and most inspirational athletes from the last calendar year.
