Plumes of smoke reappeared at the summit of Mount Etna on near Catania in Sicily on Thursday morning.

Catania’s airport has reportedly limited its flights to only four arrivals and departures per hour due to the dispersion of ash into the sky.

Etna, which is the largest of Italy's three active volcanoes and the biggest in Europe, sits at 3,330 metres high (11,000 ft).
