Russia: ‘Medical case’ - Zakharova slams US plans on new Russian sanctions
Spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova slammed US plans to introduce a new round of Russian sanctions, appearing to describe the psychological condition of those wanting to implement them as "a medical case." She made the comment speaking to journalists in Moscow on Thursday.
Zakharova criticised the move, suggesting US lawmakers instead "think about sanctions against themselves, against their own politicians."
"If we speak seriously, we need to raise the question on how and when US society will start investigating their own crimes on the international arena," she concluded.
On Wednesday U.S. senators introduced a bill to impose a new round of anti-Russian sanctions on its banking, energy sector and foreign debt.
