
France: 'Change regime' - Iranians protest revolution's 40th anniversary
Hundreds of Iranians took to the streets of Paris on Friday to protest against the Islamic Republic of Iran and demand a change in the country’s government, 40 years after the Iranian Islamic revolution.
"The solution for Iran, for a free and democratic Iran is to overthrow and change the regime in Iran by the Iranian people and by their resistance movement," said anti-government activist.
Elham Zanjani, member of the Women's Committee National Council of Resistance of Iran, said: "120,000 members of our movement have been executed in Iran, 30 percent were women."
The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), an organisation linked to the France-based People's Mujahedin of Iran (MEK), called on the people to protest the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, which occurred on February 11, 1978.
